What started out as a simple job of replacing the air filter and the Vacuator (a.k.a. duckbill) valve on our Donaldson ECG Konepac G11-2001 air cleaner ended up becoming “one of those” projects.
Replacing the Air Cleaner
Adding a Maxxfan Deluxe
Our original fantastic fan was squeaky when running and slow to open/close, it was tied. We decided to replace it with a Maxxfan Deluxe model which provided more speed settings as well as a built-in roof cover.
Steering Wheel Horn Pad
Our steering wheel pad/center cap was very worn on the two sides. I don’t know if this is wear is typical or if the original owner had a nervous habit, but either way it looked terrible and was continuing to flake.
Passenger Drink Holder
The passenger cup holder in the magazine rack was fairly basic in our 2000, so we decided to make a few improvements. We replaced the existing holder with one that can handle an insulated flask. We also added 12 USB outlets to power/change phones and tablets.
New Bay Door Handles
Most of the bay door handles on our 2000 have “seen better days”. On our 2003, we had replaced them with Chrome Handles.
Replacing the Hydraulic Reservoir
When we purchased the coach, we noted there was a small dent in the face of the tank, about the size of a golf ball indent. It was felt that it was likely caused by the engine door hitting it or hitting/pinching the hose. There is not much room between that tank and the door so any mis-adjustment could have been an issue, and it was just cosmetic.
HWH Panel Cover
A couple of the buttons had poked their way through, so it was time for a new one. Ours is mounted behind the dash, which requires you to remove the panel to do the swap.
Replacing the condenser fan
Our air conditioner’s condenser fan had been replaced once before, but was no longer operating efficiently. According to the previous owner, the auto-resettable (Type II) fuse would occasionally trip when the A/C was running. When replaced, the wiring was redone to isolate the fan load and the circuit breaker remained a 15-amp unit.
